Description: Most common in prairies and grassy openings. The inflorescence is narrow and each spikelet rests on a cup-like structure at the top of a conspicuously hairy pedicel. It is of fair value to some wildlife species and provides good forage for cattle. It does not withstand heavy grazing. |
