Description: A small tree or shrub occurring on dry sandy uplands. The fruit are eaten by many wildlife species. Bark is grey to black and broken into small square blocks. Bluejack oak is a member of the "Red/Black" oak group whose leaf veins extend past the leaf margin to from bristles. Acorns mature in the fall of the second year. |
