Description: An herbaceous plant that grows in moist soil and low areas, and can reach heights of over 6 feet. Stems have only
occasional branches. Leaves have toothed or lobed margins, and some are arrowhead- or maple leaf-shaped. Scarlet rose mallow has a very showy flower, and petals are pink or whitish with crimson to purple blotch. The flowering period lasts about a month with each flower lasting about a day. Scarlet rose mallow is a source of nectar and pollen for many species of butterflies and bees. |
