Description: A small tree preferring moist soils. Was introduced as an ornamental shade tree. Now naturalized in many areas almost appearing native. Fruit is yellow, maturing in the summer and fall. All parts of the plant are poisonous and fatalities in livestock and humans have been reported. Is often mis-identified as Soapberry (Sapindus saponaria). |
