Description: Common along roadsides and poorly managed pastures and fields. The inflorescence is loosely flowered and the lemmas have awns 8-13 mm long. The lower stems are covered with long shaggy pubescence. The leaves are usually pubescent as well. It provides good forage for some wildlife species in late winter and early spring. It provides good forage for cattle but lacks quantity. |
