Fruit is eaten by many birds and some mammals. Although not a preferred browse, the foliage may be eaten by white-tailed deer and goats if higher quality browse is not available. It is an invasive plant on rangelands due to fire suppression. Does not re-sprout if cut or killed by fire. |
