Description: A low to high-climbing vine found on wet areas, disturbed sites and thickets in bottomlands and uplands. This plant is often confused with true grapes, but has mostly smooth bark, compact and broad cluters of flowers. Leaves are heart-shaped and have coarsely serrate margins, sometimes lobed. The grape-like fruit is eaten by several species of birds but is not suited for human consumption.
