Description: Carnivorous plant with bladders that capture small organisms for food and energy. This plant has yellow flowers that extend above the surface of the water with the remainder of the plant below. Leaves are whorled and forked. Cone-spur bladderwort provides good habitat for invertebrates, which are eaten by fish and waterfowl.
Chemical Control Options: 2,4-D, diquat, fluridone or imazamox.
Mechanical Control Options: Physically removing cone-spur bladderwort is only temporarily effective because it has the ability to reestablish quickly.
Biological Control Options: Diploid grass carp control it, but the effectiveness of triploid grass carp is less certain.
