Description: Typically found throughout our region but is most common in shallow, calcareous soils. The straw-colored, curled basal leaves are a distinct characteristic of this grass. The spikelets are appressed on short pedicels along the inflorescence branches. It is of little value to most wildlife species and if of fair forage value to cattle.
