Description: A spiny, prostrate vine occurring on a variety of sites. Stems densely covered with weak and stout spines or prickles. Many cultivated varieties have been developed. Fruit is similar to that of Blackberry and is eaten by many species of wildlife. Is easilydistinguished from Blackberry by the red, gland-typed bristles in addition to the prickles along the stem. Can be used for making jelly and pies.
