Description: An aggressive legume adapted to a variety of sites in open uplands and woods. Was once used extensively in native range plantings. Has become a problem on some range sites. Is stimulated by late winter burns and is an over-rated cattle forage. Is used by goats and has some wildlife value but these attributes may not outweigh potential problems it can create. Is best controlled by chemical application in late summer - early fall when in bloom.
