Description: A small rounded shrub occurring in open pastures, brushy prairies and limestone outcrops in the southeastern U.S. The stems are often looping and appear almost vine-like. Flowers are present in very early spreing and fruits may be eaten by some birds and mammals. Shrubby growth form provides good cover for some species of wildlife.
