Description: Usually found growing in low, moist areas. The stems arise from a "knotty" rhizomatous base and the leaves and stems often appears purple. There are many bristles below each spikelet and the bristly inflorescence appears yellowish at maturity. It is of fair value to some wildlife species and it provides fair forage for cattle. |
