Description: A weedy grass of shallow, disturbed sites. It is low growing but typically extends its inflorescence well above the leaves. Although not a reliable characteristic, the spikelets of the inflorescence are usually tinged with red and the leaves and stems often appear blue-green. Its caryopses are larger than most other lovegrass species. It is of little value to most wildlife and cattle. |
