Description: A vine occurring in thickets, woods, stream bottoms or slopes in southeastern U.S., often along fence rows and roadsides. The smooth, greenish or grayish mature stems are easily recognizable characteristics. Commonly used for wickerware, and the mature, bluish black fruit is eaten by many species of birds.
