Description: A thicket forming shrub or sometimes small tree occurring on wet soil in the granite Arbuckle Plains. Found locally in Johnston and Pontotoc counties of Oklahoma. Also local in southern Delaware and the east shore of Maryland. Is thought to be native only to these two widely separated areas.
